5.Someone , Zorro,Monster and vampires
Though it might seem incredible all these things do have a link. In a dimension called time.
Yesterday after a plethora of power cuts and internet outages forced me to go to an extra class on sunday at 9 o clock.. things started happening.
It started with a talk by Chetan Bhagat, the author of 5.someone ( which is still think is a crappy book btw) , which was interesting enough to not feel bad about having heard it. He talked of call centres as though they were the most evil phenomenon ever to happen to India. Stuff that he said was somewhat hairy, but the kind of arguements he gave were sort of BS. I mean, its all fine to say that money is not everything... but that isnt something which holds much weight if you have loads of it. Some of the other stuff he talked about did make sense.. like for instance pursuing a hobby of some kind which allows your creativity to come out. Also relieves your stress. He talked about the joys of writing, some in a cocky way... but then he is a page 3 celebrity. Took potshots at the Indian press and printing industry in some ways which were ok in the context, so I kinda liked it. Overall, decent - after all he claims he writes to entertain, and he did do that to an extent. He also gave the horrific news that 5.someone was about to be made into a movie. ( would be a hepaxo bolly movie with all sorts of masala)
Then, yours truly completed his tryst with Morpheus ( FYI this is the god of dreams) to wake up at about 7 in the evening. Being desperate to eat out, I jumped into a group which was going to watch "The Legend of Zorro". Ended up going to Mocambo and having chicken tetrazini yet again... now will need to change my menu slightly.( definitely not going to mocambo this year).
The Mask of Zorro had made a good watch because of Catherine Zeta Jones sexy looks(mainly that-got too distracted to notice acting) , Antonio Banderas and Anthony hopkins. The third one is not there in The Legend of Zorro, but it makes for a decent watch nonetheless. It is a movie David Dhawan would be proud to make. This movie, you notice even more of Catherine Zeta Jones than in the prequel, and a few other ugly things like nitroglycerine and the pinkertons rear up their ugly head. Of course, our man Zorro, ably assisted by his wife and son ( obviously!) defeats the villian, belonging to a shady european power congregation ( which apparently controls europe) called Knights of Aragon.Whew. Like any of those n number of hindi movies u trash 9 times out of 10. But good, sort of like those involving Amitabh Bacchan and Dharmendra.
Eminently watchable on the big screen, especially if u dig latino babes.
So far so good, then after returning, I decided to watch "monster",*ing Charlize Theron, which ive had on cd for sometime. It was not all that gruesome as some ppl said. I could recognise
Charlize theron in that, little beyond what is done to fair and lovely models in the before use part was done to her. Nonetheless, the movie was deeply disturbing and sad. Beyond that I wont say anything, apart from the fact that it was a deserved oscar for Charlize Theron.
By then, the latest episode of smallville -thirst had come out. This ridiculously involves Lana becoming a vampire and getting cured of vampirism ( btw she was shown to posess "genuine"characteristics of vampires). But interesting nonetheless, for we might have found out who brainiac is.Smallville season 5 is proving to be good :)
So now you now how the four are related :P
Now, copying swordfish to watch it the 2nd time, till the 3rd ODI between India and Sri Lanka starts, which in my opinion will be more interesting than the previous two ones.
